July Highlights
July was a big month for authors at Wheatberry! We were delighted to host Dave Moravec, Christine Barker, and Jen Devon in the shop for three Saturdays in a row. If you missed these events, copies of the books are still available in the shop. We decided to make space on our shelves for fall titles by holding a big book sale! For one day, all books over 500 pages were 50% off the sale price. Readers took advantage of it and helped us make plenty of room for big titles. Thank you to everyone who supported us during this hot summer month!

August Book Club Information
For August, the "Back to School Book Club" is reading "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien, a collection of short stories about the Vietnam War. We will meet to discuss this classic work on Wednesday August 28 at 7pm in the shop.

As our Nonfiction Book Club "considers the essay", we will read "Thin Places" by Jordan Kisner for the month of July. In this perceptive and provocative essay collection, an award-winning writer shares her personal and reportorial investigation into America's search for meaning. We will meet to discuss this book in the shop on Monday August 26 at 7pm.

Selected titles are always available in the shop for 15% off during the month that we are reading them.
Bookseller Recommendation
Angela recommends "Sipsworth" by Simon Van Booy.
"Octogenarian Helen Cartwright has nothing left to do in this life except wait to die. Or so she thinks. It seems that life has other plans for her. In a quite unexpected manner, Helen, as well as the reader, are reminded that loving someone, or something, is sometimes just the second chance we didn't know we needed or even wanted. Sipsworth is enchanting and one of those books you can read over and over! I was captured within just a few lines and plan to return to visit Helen in Crescent Hill time and time again. This is my first Simon Van Booy but it won't be my last!"
You can find "Sipsworth" by Simon Van Booy at Wheatberry Books.
